Blairsville, GA

Since Paul was working out of town most of the summer by August I needed a getaway. So my friend Lisa and I packed up the kids and the car and headed to her parents cabin in Blairsville, Ga. Since Holly is only a couple of hours away from the cabin she met us there with Kyra and James. Even though it was a quick weekend trip and we probably spent as much time driving there as we did at the cabin it was still nice to getaway from home for a couple of days and see something new. It was beautiful up there. On Saturday we hiked up to Brasstown Bald. Coming from out west you don’t really think that there can be as beautiful landscapes on the east coast but with all the green there really is. Thanks Lisa and Holly for letting me escape if even for a little while!

This one is for you Char!

What we have been up to...July 2012

In July we spent time with cousins, aunts and all kinds of family.

Macie and Ansley with Aunt Delilas. Love her!

Macie's first Popsicle (on a stick). She loved it.

Poor Macie got a bug bite on her eye and it was so swollen you almost couln't see her eyeball.

Cow Appreciation Day 2012

We could not let July pass without hitting Chick Fil A for Cow Appreciation Day. This year I had to do it without Paul but luckily I have friends who are willing to make fools of themselves with me.
(By the way Lisa, you were missed)

The cow came and sat at there table and they really didn't know what to think. They all just sat there stunned

Best cow costume ever. They all walked in mooing. (It was crowded so I didn't get the best angle)

Catch Air

While we were in Atlanta we went to a place called Catch Air. The kids love it there. I think they could spend all day there if we let them. My favorite part is when they have the dance party on the little light up dance floor they have. It really entertaining watching the kids and what moves they come up with.( I have a video but I can't get it to upload)

Since Paul was working in SC this summer it made sense for us to spend 4th of July with Holly’s family in Atlanta which is only a couple hours from where he was working. It was nice because even though Paul was working out of town, we still saw him every night while we were in Atlanta.

We started out the morning at there ward breakfast where the kids put on a bike/scooter parade.

Then we went to a BBQ at one of Holly's friends house. We defiantly made our mark there when someone pointed out the little boy in the yard who was removing his swim trunks. Yes, that would be my little boy. Why was he removing his swim trunks you might ask? Well because he had left HIS mark over by the slide if you know what I mean. Yep, we are the proud parents of that little one. Did I mention that this was the first time we had met most of these people?

They set up a huge fireworks display! It is the biggest one I have ever seen put on in a cul-de-sac.
