Macie's 1st birthday party!

Since Macie and my niece Ansley's birthdays are only two days apart we decided to have a joint Hello Kitty birthday party.

 My sister made their fabulous matching  dresses and the super cute goody bags and since I had to contribute somewhat, I made the cakes.

(I wrote this post the actual month of her birthday which was in June but again with the OCD  I could not have my posts out of order but I am on June and we are in October so I feel like I am closing the gap here.)

I can not believe my baby is already one. That means she is not my baby anymore. She is now a toddler! And boy is she ever. She wants to do everything the boys are doing. (The boys being Aiden and Evan, the little boy I babysit). She is also into EVERYTHING. It just comes with the age though, right? Here are  a few things I wrote down about Macie around her first birthday

• She has 6 teeth, 4 on top and 2 on bottom
• She is 19 lbs 8.4 oz
• She is 29 inches
• She says tickle, mama, dada, no-no ("na na na na" while shaking her little finger) 
• She gives lots of kisses. One morning I was listening to her playing in her crib and heard mwah-mwah" over and over again.
• She is not walking yet but she has taken a few steps and she is so close.
• She is so full of personality and happy most of the time
• She is just starting to be more cuddly and will give mommy hugs about half the time that I ask.
• She is very social and can not miss out on anything. She loves being around people.

She brings such a light into our little family. We can not imagine life without our little Macie. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for the blessing she is to us. We love you Macie! Happy Birthday!

What we have been up to...May 2012

I think I posted plenty for May considering the 7 posts on our beach trip (my apologies). But my OCD kicks in and it would bother me to skip a month in "What we have been up to" so I leave you with some pictures of Aiden and Macie that I happen to take in the month of May. 

Hatteras Beach Trip 2012 Part 7

Here are just a few more pictures to wrap up our beach trip. I have to say this was one of the most memorable beach trips I have had. I said it in another post but I am so grateful that Emaw was able to join us on this trip and that we were able to make some last memories with her.  She was one of a kind and we truly miss her. 

Why yes, we do let our children play with crabs. I am pretty sure this one lost the fight against the other crabs in the pot at lost its pinchers, yeah, lets just go with that. 

Hatteras Beach Trip 2012 Part 6...NC Aquarium Roanoke Island

(I promise there will only be one more beach post after this. Sorry about the beach overload)

On one of our rainy days we decided to go to the Aquarium. It was a lot of fun but there was a massive rain storm when we were getting ready to head home. The island we were on was flooded. There is only one road getting back to the beach house and it often washes out during bad storms so we were a little nervous about whether or not we were going to make it back to the beach house. But besides being a little wet, we made it back without any problems.
