More family comes to town

As mentioned in an earlier post, my parents flew in for Macie's baby blessing. Holly and Cameron also came. And since my cousin Logan had just moved here and my Aunt Delilas was on her way back from the beach they all came too. It was so much fun having all that family here. We enjoyed every minute of it.

I love my family

Aiden with Grandma and Poppa at the "turtle park"

Camree turned 9 so we had a surprise part for her. (What..9? I can't believe she is already 9)

Poppa David reading to the kids. It was the most exciting version of the "Pokey Little Puppy" I have ever heard

At the pool with Poppa

Never a dull moment with Poppa

The whole group

and here is the real us.

Since a hurricane decided to come on the Saturday before the baby blessing we had to find something to do inside so we went bowling. At about 1 frame in the lights started flickering on and off. Apparently with the power flashing off the computer system crashed so that meant no more bowling for us. We still needed something to do and hanging out at the house all day was not an option. We needed to find some where that was "fully functioning" so we ended up at Frankies Fun park to play laser tag and arcade games. There was not a whole lot to do since they were only "fully functioning" inside. It's ok though because our family always knows how to make it fun.

An intense game of air hockey. Can you see it in my mom's eyes?

What we have been up to...August 2011

August was a very busy month for us. Chanda was visiting, Paul's Aunt Jackie (I think she is actually a cousin) and her daughter Susan came to Virginia, we blessed Macie so my parents and the Noblit's came into town and we had a hurricane sweep past us.

The hurrican did a little more damage in Richmond then it did in Raleigh. This is the tree that fell down in Paul's parents yard

and this is the tree limb that fell down in our neighbors yard. It is a big tree limb but limb non the less.

Our family with Jackie and Susan. We met everyone (Aiden was playing down by the water and his clothes were wet and dirty which is why he isn't wearing any)

The Giles come to town...part 3 The beach

Chanda could not come to North Carolina without taking a trip to the beach. Every time she has been on the east coast and went to the beach something always ruined the trip (sick kids, rain, running out of time...etc) This trip was not any different. We left at around 9:00 that morning but for whatever reason we did not actually get on the beach until 4:00 that afternoon. Despite that we were still able to get our fill of the beach and it turned out to be a great day.

The Giles come to town...part 1

Sometime in the summer Chanda decided that her and the kids were going to come stay with us for a few weeks. She was flying Space A so she didn't know when and she didn't know where we would pick her up but I didn't care as long as I got to see her. I got a call one Saturday morning (like early middle of the night morning) telling me she was bording a plane to the states and she would call me when she got here. Since Paul was out camping with the scouts and would not be home until much later she had to wait a few more hours at the airport. (Did I mention Paul had my car so unless we were strapping someone to the roof we could not go pick her up until he got home) It was defiantly worth the wait. The first week she was here we all got a nasty stomach bug. The worst of it only lasted 24 hours but boy did that thing lingure. After the first week week we kind of got our groove and were able to do a few fun things but we mostly just hung out and enjoyed each other and tried our best to entertain the kids

Oaklee & Macie

A regular activity was pushing each other around in the Tonka truck.

Lincoln wanted to cuddle with Aiden while he was asleep on the couch.

Oaklee and I showing off our tatoos

Oaklee's NC BFF, Ensley

This trip was the first time I met Lincoln

Lincoln loves Macie. He is trying to make her stop crying.

Aiden and Lincoln loved wrestling each other.

Hangin out at the pool

The Gile's come to town...part 2:Marbles

Another trip to Marbles (and don't worry, it is not the last)

This brings back memories. When I was a little younger then Oaklee, I had real crutches. It was just a little trampoline accident. I should have listened to the "big kids" when they told me I had to get off or I would get hurt.
Of course Aiden & Will found the train table

Aiden and Will, are they firefighters or paramedics...I am not quite sure.

The Noblit's come to town

Their trip to Raleigh started with a stop at the NC Zoo
Macie's first zoo trip
We saw giraffes
chimpanzees
gorillas

an albino Alligator (legend has it that luck will follow those who see this rare alligator in the wild)
Elephants
and Polar Bears among other animals

Aiden and James got matching haircuts. This was the only picture we got but they kind of reminded me of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.

The will be best friends for sure

One of our favorite places to go is to the Children's Museum in Raleigh. There is always plenty for the kids to do and enough to wear them out.
