Farm Days

After several cold days in March we had to get these crazy kids outside so some friends and I headed to the NC State Farm Animal Days. We got to see tractors, cows, horses, turkeys, sheep, goats and the kids even got to hold little baby chicks. And to top of the event, they gave us free homemade ice cream before we left. (I think that was my favorite part) We tried our hardest to get some good pictures but the kids were more interested in the animals then providing us mom's with the perfect photo op. (I don't know why) I think all in all everyone had a good time.

Aiden is 2 !!!

Today our baby boy turned two. I can't not believe how quickly time flies by. He has been such a sweet addition to our home. His personality develops more and more everyday and it is so exciting to watch him learn and grow.

Here are a few things about Aiden

Loves Sesame Street, specifically Elmo (who he calls “La La”), Little Einstein’s which he calls “pat pat”, Handy Manny and Letter Factory.

He tries to sing his “ABCs” which I might just find funny because I am his mommy but he kind of moves his head to the beat and just says random letters or sounds that might be letters. But next to “Wheels on the Bus” and “5 Little Monkeys” it is one of his favorites

Absolutely loves babies, especially his cousin Ansley. Which is good since we will having a baby arriving at our home very soon

Paul got a remote control helicopter for Christmas and Aiden has a love/hate relationship with it. He loves it when daddy gets it out and flies it but he hates it when it gets to close but who can blame the kid. It has gotten him a few times.

Aiden is getting more and more independent everyday. Just to name a few things, he used to hate sitting in his booster chair and would much rather sit in a regular chair, until one day he fell off the chair and hit his head pretty hard. It has really stuck with him because now everytime he tries to climb in the regular chair I just have to remind him he might fall and he goes right to the his booster chair. It might have helped too that around the same time he discovered he can do the buckles himself and he is very adamant about doing that.

When we are out some where and he wants down to “walk” it also includes not holding on to anybody’s hand. We have had many parking lot battles about him "walking" That leash great grandma got him might come in handy.

He counts to two and knows 6 letters and their sounds. A,B,C,M,S & W. (thank you Letter Factory)

Right now he is obsessed with turtles. He has little turtles that he naps with and carries around with him all day.

New Years 2011

This year for New Years we headed down to Atlanta to stay with Holly and Cameron. They also had some friends visiting from Virgina who we were also friends with when we were dating so it was nice to hang out with them too. Our time the Noblit's is never long enough but luckily we aren't super far away so we get to hang out

The kids had their New Year's at 10:00. There was no way they were making it until midnight.

(Don't worry it is only apple juice)

Christmas 2010

This year we spent Christmas in Virgina with Paul's parents and his sister Heather. We filled our time traveling to Paul's grandmothers house in Staunton, going to movings, checking out the light displays and playing in the snow. We had such a great time. I know I always say this but it was so nice to be able to relax and spend time with those we love.

Aiden was more into opening presents this year but not quite as much as we thought he would be. Don't let this picture fool you. It took almost the whole day of coming back and forth for him to finish opening all of his presents.

Helping Grandpa open his present

In the Richmond area you can always find a lot of awesome light displays. They call it the tacky light tour and that it is. Some of these displays start going up in September just so they can be ready for the holiday season.

While we were in Staunton visiting Grandma Cauley we drove up to visist Grandpa Cauleys gravesight. He died before Aiden was born so he never got to meet him we will make sure he knows who great grandpa Cauley was and what a good example he was and still is to his family.

We also had a white Christmas. Aiden had so much fun playing in the snow. We didn't have boots for him so Grandma had the great idea to zip tie plastic bags to his feet so his shoes wouldn't get wet. It worked out perfectly.

Tiger Refuge

One weekend in November when Holly and Cameron decided to visit we decided to check out the Tiger Refuge that is about 30 min down the road. It was pretty neat. If we would have gone a couple weeks later we would have seen the lions but we still saw a lot of different cats. Just watch out for the tigers. They spray. Ask Paul and Kyra.

Please ignore the bad picture quality. It was the best I could do with the chain link fences

Aiden has some news to share

Aiden 18 month update

Since Aiden is already past 19 months this post is over due but what is important is that it is here. I could just sit and watch Aiden play and discover new things all day. He is such a little character and so full of love. He has such a cute sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. One of his tricks is that he discovered he has holes in his nose so he will stick both fingers in his nose and laugh and laugh. His first work was “ticka ticka” meaning tickle tickle and it is a nightly occurrence for him to come up to Paul and I and grab our feet and say “Ticka ticka ticka” with a big grin on his face. He is also quite the dancer. Lately he has really busted out some moves. He has this cute little booty shake going on and has started getting his arms into it and everything. Paul has gotten some videos on his phone but every time I pull the camera out he gets distracted and stops dancing. I guess I will have to sneak it out one of these days. He loves giving kisses and blowing kisses but he must be running out because mommy is not getting nearly as many kisses as she use to. He also loves to color. He is always going around saying “color, color” and running to the closet where he knows the crayons are kept. He loves talking on the phone and it is not rare to find him talking to Aunt Holly. (I think up until last weekend when they were visiting he thought she lived in the computer.) He is saying so many new words and adds more and more to his vocabulary everyday. The latest include potty, spidy (spider) and woof (dog).

I can’t believe that my baby is a toddler now. I don’t know where the time went. He is such a sweet little spirit and for the most part a very good little boy. I will admit, sometimes he does try my patience but what toddler doesn’t test their limits. We are so thankful that Heavenly Father entrusted us to care for him and let him join our home. It wouldn’t be the same with out him. We love that little boy more then words can say.

Just like Daddy

Loves his grandma blankets

It is not a rare occurrence to find him sitting down reading books
