Aiden has some news to share

Aiden 18 month update

Since Aiden is already past 19 months this post is over due but what is important is that it is here. I could just sit and watch Aiden play and discover new things all day. He is such a little character and so full of love. He has such a cute sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. One of his tricks is that he discovered he has holes in his nose so he will stick both fingers in his nose and laugh and laugh. His first work was “ticka ticka” meaning tickle tickle and it is a nightly occurrence for him to come up to Paul and I and grab our feet and say “Ticka ticka ticka” with a big grin on his face. He is also quite the dancer. Lately he has really busted out some moves. He has this cute little booty shake going on and has started getting his arms into it and everything. Paul has gotten some videos on his phone but every time I pull the camera out he gets distracted and stops dancing. I guess I will have to sneak it out one of these days. He loves giving kisses and blowing kisses but he must be running out because mommy is not getting nearly as many kisses as she use to. He also loves to color. He is always going around saying “color, color” and running to the closet where he knows the crayons are kept. He loves talking on the phone and it is not rare to find him talking to Aunt Holly. (I think up until last weekend when they were visiting he thought she lived in the computer.) He is saying so many new words and adds more and more to his vocabulary everyday. The latest include potty, spidy (spider) and woof (dog).

I can’t believe that my baby is a toddler now. I don’t know where the time went. He is such a sweet little spirit and for the most part a very good little boy. I will admit, sometimes he does try my patience but what toddler doesn’t test their limits. We are so thankful that Heavenly Father entrusted us to care for him and let him join our home. It wouldn’t be the same with out him. We love that little boy more then words can say.

Just like Daddy

Halloween/Pumpkin Patch

These are just a few pictures to share from Halloween and Aiden at the Pumpkin Patch

We tried to get a picture of Aiden and Will in their costumes but they were fighting over the door handle and this is the best we got.

Mule Days

Some friends of ours told us about a festival they have in this small town not far from us. It is called Mule Days and I was really excited about going. I felt like maybe I was getting back to my Idaho roots. It started with a parade then a arts and crafts show and finally a rodeo. I was really excited about going to the rodeo but by the time that came around it was super hot outside and Aiden was ready for a nap so we decided to call it a day and head home. We had lots of fun so maybe we will go back next year. Paul isn't much for parades though so maybe we will skip that and make time for the rodeo instead.

Cape Lookout

For awhile we have wanted to go to Cape Lookout. It is one of the last islands on the Outerbanks of North Carolina and the only way to get there is on a small ferry. We had a nice weekend in August so Paul's parents came out and we headed on the the beach. It is such a pretty place and the weather was perfect. A hurricane had passed through a day or two before which brought big waves and surfers but it also brought lots of nasty biting flies. The day was perfect expect for those flies. And it wasn't just a few here or there. At one point, Paul and I were collecting Conch Shells and Paul literary had a cluster of thirty flies biting his leg. It did make for a memorable trip and we will defiantly go back. Hopefully next time the flies will not be joining us.

Fall Vacation

In October we headed down south to Atlanta GA for one of my nieces baptism and another of my nieces baby blessing. Since my baby sister was getting married in Florida the following weekend we were able to hang out with my family all week. Holly kept us busy in Georgia with a trip to the Aquarium & shopping. We were also able to squeeze in a surprise birthday party for my mom's 50th birthday. After all the fun in Georgia we headed further south to Flordia. We started in Orlando and spent a fun filled evening at Disney World. It was the perfect time to go. It was not crowded at all and we did not have to stand in a line longer then 5 or 10 minutes. We were able to fit in all the rides we wanted plus a few we could have done with out. After Orlando we went to St Petes Beach to get ready for Chars wedding. We thought we might have some time to hang out and relax on the beach but between getting things set up for the wedding and getting ourselves ready, the only time I put my feet in the sand was during the actual wedding. It turned out so beautiful and Char was such a gorgeous bride. For whatever reason, I did not even get a chance to take any pictures at the wedding so maybe I will have to collect some and add them later. Aiden was such a cute little ring bearer so I am hoping someone got a picture of him. I was to busy making sure he made it down the isle rather then sitting down and playing in the sand. It did make it most of the way until he started discovering the flowers in the isle and got a little distracted but did I mention that he was so cute?

I had a lot of fun spending that time with my family. It is always fun when we get together. We did miss Chanda and wish she was there. I was thinking about her the entire time but unfortunately she was not able to be there. Thanks everyone for all the fun and I hope we can do it again!

These pictures are going to be out of order because I can't figure out how to move them on blogger but they do highlight the trip pretty well.

Lake Mattamuskeet

This summer we went for a day trip, with some friends from our ward, to Lake Mattumuskeet. It is this lake in North Carolina near the ocean and you can catch some huge crab there. It was quite a drive down there and kind of out in the middle of no where so we packed a lunch and snacks and just hung out the rest of the day. We ended up with a lot of crab and we had a good time.

Always a little monkey

Some of them were so big they had to sit in the bucket sideways
