What we have been up to...July 2011

This is what we were up to in July

Aiden loves coloring outside with "shock"

Macie turned 6 weeks

Aiden absolutely loves Thomas the train, well any train for that matter but Thomas is his favorite. He goes around all day saying "all aboard the choo choo train" or "chugga choo choo"

One day Aiden asked me for a "nakin" and next thing I know he was cleaning the window. He was even using actual glass cleaner. I think I will keep him around.

Macie has a mirror on the top of her swing and often I catch her smiling at her own face. She already knows how cute she is.

4th of July

For the fourth of July weekend we headed up to Virginia to hang out with Paul's family.

Aiden riding the train at the park in Stanton. He loved every minute of it.

What we have been up to...June 2011

I know I have been neglecting my blog for quite some time now. After I finish up my next few posts you might understand why. It has been a busy summer for us but we have enjoyed every minute.

Besides bringing a new baby into our home, this is what we were up to in June.

Pau'ls Birthday. Happy Birthday Daddy!

We caught a lot of lighting bugs

And had one of our own

Macie was a little jaundice and had to have a bili-blanket for a few days

Macie's first bath

Summer of the "swushy" We bought these cups at the beginning of the summer and all summer long you were able to refill them with a slushy or soda for free. Even now, every time Aiden sees a "Kangaroo" logo he yells "swushy daddy, swushy"

Just a day in the life of a toddler, Aiden found a red pen and well, you can see what happened next.

Aiden got a bug bite and his eye was so swollen he could barely open it

Macie with Emaw and Grandaddy

Aiden loved riding around with "Poppa" Butler on the golf cart.

9/11

Ten years ago today, I was a few weeks into my senior year of high school. I remember getting ready for school and hearing on the radio that one of the twin towers had been hit by an airplane. At that point the details were fuzzy. Was is a big plane or a small plane? Was it an accident or was it an act of terrorism? By the time the second plane hit the second tower it was clear. The United States of America had been attacked on our own soil. I sat in my first hour class, it happened to be Mr. Jones—Government, and we watched as the first tower fell. It was all so unreal that something like that could happen to our country. For a least two or three days the entire country had to have been glued to their TV’s watching the coverage of everything that had happened that day. My heart went out to those who had lost their lives and to those who had lost loved ones. I am so appreciative to those heroes from that day, the NYFD, the NYPD and those on all four airplanes especially United Airlines flight 93. I am appreciative of those who have and are protecting us right now so that we may enjoy the freedom we have in this country. September 11, 2001 was a day most of us will never forget. It was a day despite the tragedy, that our entire country came together and grieved as one. It was a day we were all Americans and nothing more.

More of Macie

These are some pictures I took today with the help of my friend Lisa. I do have to give most of the credit to her though seeing as I forgot to bring my camera. Who goes to do a photo shoot and forgets their camera? Oh that would be me. That's ok though. Thanks to her we still got some good shots.

Macie

A few pictures I took of our sweet baby girl. I tried really hard to get Aiden in a few of them but that independent 2 year old was just not having any of it.

Macie Adeline Butler

Our sweet baby Macie is here!

She arrived on June 9th at 3:15 pm and weighed in at 7lb 3 oz.
Aiden is such a good big brother and absolutely loves her. She is a wonderful addition to our family and we couldn't be more happy.
