Fishing at Bass Lake

On of our favorite family activities (ok I will admit, not one of my favorites but I am a little out numbered right now) is fishing at Bass Lake. It is only a few minutes from our house so there are many evenings we will pack up the poles and head to the lake. Aiden loves it. Not only the fishing part but he also enjoys playing in the dirt and picking up anything that resembles a rock and throwing it in the water. He is always saying "Daddy, fising?" Aiden is all about anything that has to do with water, turtles or fishing. He is defiantly daddy's little boy and as long as I am spending time with my boys I will try to enjoy it too.

Easter

This Easter we headed down to Charlotte. My cousin Donnarae lives there and since it is halfway between us and my sister Holly it was the perfect place for us all to get together. It was also a pleasant surprise to find out that my other cousin Raquel (Donnarae's sister) and part of her family were stopping by on their way to DC. We had a mini Korth family reunion. (We really missed you Delilas). Thanks Donnarae for putting up with us. It was a lot of fun. We all need to get together again soon.

Aiden's 2nd Birthday

This year we celebrated Aiden's birthday the day before his actual birthday. Paul's parents were traveling from Virginia so we figured Saturday would be the perfect day to have a little party. That day turned out to be quite eventful but it had nothing to do with Aiden's birthday party. On April 16th several tornadoes came rolling through North Carolina, one of which hit our little town of Holly Springs, less then 1/2 a mile from our house. We were very fortunate to not have any damages. Because of the tornado, not all guests were able to be there but we were glad to have those that were able to make it.

I found a cute Mickey Mouse cake I knew Aiden would love so that became the theme of our little party.

Strawberry Pickin'

It's that time of year again. One of my favorite times of the year. It is strawberry season and around here you have a plethora of farms to choose from to go pick your own strawberries. A friend and I packed up our kids and headed out. Its not super easy to bend over and pick strawberries with an eight month pregnant belly but the reward at the end was totally worth it. Aiden had a great time too and also enjoyed literally reaping the fruits of his labor.

Goodbye New Friends

Their time in Raleigh was short but I am so grateful I was able to get to know Beth and Sarah. They moved here about the same time and we all became fast friends, however jobs moved them elsewhere. And though we can no longer call them for a trip to the park or a girls night out, I am sure we have developed a friendship that will last a lifetime.

(As a side note...if you move to the Raleigh area, and you kind of like it, probably don't become friends with me or Lisa. We seem to have a curse)

All of the kids (minus one) Most of them were not so happy about having this picture taken. It was probably a little close to naptime.

I love being a mom to a 2 year old...

...messy face and all. Needless to say, Oxiclean has become my best friend.

I don't think he ate the actual cupcake, in fact I don't know how much of the frosting actually made it in his mouth. I think most of it is on his face.

After blueberry pancakes

After one, yes only one, blue M & M.

This is after the lollipop I gave him to bribe him in the grocery store. (That is the only time it has worked) He had it everywhere including his eyelashes

Farm Days

After several cold days in March we had to get these crazy kids outside so some friends and I headed to the NC State Farm Animal Days. We got to see tractors, cows, horses, turkeys, sheep, goats and the kids even got to hold little baby chicks. And to top of the event, they gave us free homemade ice cream before we left. (I think that was my favorite part) We tried our hardest to get some good pictures but the kids were more interested in the animals then providing us mom's with the perfect photo op. (I don't know why) I think all in all everyone had a good time.
